FREE Book for Children to Increase Understanding of COVID-19

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, young children around the world may have experienced trauma (e.g., lockdown) or have been exposed to scary images about the virus through media. It is hard for children to understand social distancing and why they can’t play with their friends anymore.
Professor  Shu Chen wrote this book titled “Something Strange Happened in My City” to explain to children age 3-8 about social distancing, to reassure them about their safety, redirect attention to the positive actions undertaken by medical doctors and others, and to empower and engage them in helping acts.
The book is FREE! Please share it with parents, teachers, educators, and guardians of young children. So far the book has been translated into more than 12 languages and has been used in more than 15 countries. You can find the book with different formats below:

FREE Download: Sensory Tips for Parents Teaching Their Children at Home

This book is an introduction to the use of sensory strategies to help children stay focused at home for schoolwork. Each child is different and each child can be feeling differently at different times of the day.  The only way to figure out what helps a child is to try things and carefully observe the results.  These strategies can help a child focus throughout the day. Engage the child in one of these activities, or some other active play activity she likes several times each day. Feel free to share this book with anyone else you think might enjoy it.
