Understanding Interventions and Therapies in a Montessori Setting: September-November, 2025 Virtual
Presented by MMPI
I … [took this] course in November 2024. I had always wanted to know more about how we can understand neurodiverse children and how we can help them more specifically in a Montessori setting… this course went so deep into the Montessori Philosophy and gave us practical tools about how to work together with OTs and Speech Therapists that work closely with children with additional needs… [It] …helped break some of those assumptions and misinformation we have around therapists that work in our Montessori settings… and helped me… appreciate their efforts, …gave me confidence and tools to approach them and build a partnership[s] with them… [I learned] how to step out of my comfort zone and approach parents, reflect on my own practice and … think deeply about how collaboration and teamwork could help children with additional needs. I was able to put these into practical use, …have meetings with confidence, make purposeful ILPs, follow through with them… [and] gave me confidence to be better at my role. The lecturers were very helpful with assignments, and the course content was meaningful and well thought out… I am deeply grateful for this course and the opportunity it is creating for educators like us to come together and connect through the one passion we have.
I’ve been looking for a course to help me understand children with special needs, and the MMPI was a perfect fit for several reasons. It aligned with Montessori principles, focusing on the environment and how materials can be fully utilized. The course made me aware that all children are different, and as Montessorians, we need to be flexible and adapt our knowledge to how children learn. Since taking this course, it has inspired me to do better and become an advocate for those who require additional support.”
